And it’s another beautiful-people-are-fake-blogging show!

KateModern Season One ran from 16th July 2007 to 1st January 2008 and was supported by MSN, Tampax, Pantene, Gillette, Orange, Paramount Pictures UK and Buena Vista International UK. Set in the lonelygirl15 universe, but this time in East London, it tells the story of a troubled young art student named Kate and her three closest friends: an Australian wild-child named Charlie, a young entrepreneur named Tariq and a mischievous computer whiz-kid named Gavin.

And then stuff happens. And some more stuff. And for some reason these people tell their deepest secrets about each other to the web, film each other having arguments and expository conversations and then edit it together all quite professionally.

Of course, once you get used to this obvious nonsense the story and its natural characters draw you in. It is a thriller/soap after all and doesn’t disappoint in this regard. The writers and directors do a great job conjuring up a singular story that does its best staying interesting. The characters are vivid and believable for the most part and oh-so gorgeous.
