Candace Bushnell, formerly of Sex and the City, has done it. She has crossed over into Web Series Land by launching The Broadroom. The feel is still very Sex and the City about a group of women navigating the world of work and men. The production quality is surprisingly good as is the acting, since all involved have TV shows and movies on their IMDB records — and someone with an IMDB record on a web show is already noteworthy.

In case you miss it, the show is one big Mabeline commercial, kind of like The Hire was one big BMW plug. It shows successful women in their high-class jobs and not a moment goes by where they don’t apply makeup and/or talk about it. Of course the makeup is not the center of the attention while the characters are, but you still can’t help realizing someone’s subliminally pushing you to try the vanilla perfume.
