The Third Age

Having a low budget makes it a risky business to create shows with complex stories, effects and looks, and it is always a risk to do a show of epic proportions. Being different in order to stand out is also rare.

Although there are many good shows out there, many do lookalike. Comedies are the most common, with subjects usually evolving around life itself. Few shows differentiate themselves from the rest of the pack through subject matter and handling. The Cataclysmo series comes to mind, as well as The Mercury Men and of course Dr. Horrible.

Nevertheless, Respect!Films has launched an epic 2-season show that extends into the realm of magic and mythology. Terms such as ‘psychedelic’ are tossed about and ‘ordinary people caught up in a world of gods’.

Sounds very interesting of course, but can they deliver without the show feeling silly or forced? It quite certainly can be done. Respect!Films has a history of delivering solid entertainment in the realm of the dark and mystical, so we are all expectant in seeing their particular approach to web shows.

Be wary of some [explicit] language.
